Last week on the 18th we went to visit the birth center, I loved it so much that I ended up making our prenatal appointment that same day. So my next visit will be on the 30th of July, I will be pretty close to 11 weeks by then.
It was beautiful there! When I walked in I was greeted ever so kindly by a lady named Jen, she made me feel so welcome and at home. Josiah runs straight towards the toys, :) I follow him over to play with him while I waited to talk to one of the midwives. I noticed a very lovely lavender smell, so fresh and clean smelling.
When we were called back, we were brought into one of the rooms that I may be birthing in, it was a huge, nice size open room. A queen size bed in the middle, with soft colored bedding. A large tub, suited for birthing on the side, some windows on the other. The bathroom was a really nice size too. I have a feeling that I'm going to be enjoying my short stay here. :)
I loved the visit that I had with Desiree, she was going to be my midwife but we ended up having to change because we had some insurance issues. :/ But that was fine, I will have a different midwife who just joined the family. Desiree gave me so much information, things that I never heard my previous midwives talk about. After I told her my birth story of Josiah, down to the last detail, she told me stories in return. Telling me and encouraging me that I can do it naturally. I have felt really at peace with natural birth a few weeks ago, but she just made it so much more real. I thought that I was calm about it before, but now, I'm even more ready. :) I had a 4-degree tear with Josiah, and I was really worried about tearing again. It took me so long to heal and recover and I had some depression along with it. I had an awful postpartum experience. She told me all the many different ways that I can birth this baby, to prevent me from tearing that much again. This time I will be able to feel my body, I'll be able to push when I need to, and hold back when I need to. I know that I can do it!
I used to hate going to prenatal appointments, they were so long and boring and repetitive. Now, I'm actually looking forward to going. :)
Alright so I guess it's time for me to discuss what's been going on in week 10 of this pregnancy. :)
Week 8
Week 9
Week 10
Symptoms? I still have some pretty intense fatigue. My nausea is actually getting better, I have been able to eat a lot more than I have in the past few weeks without the urge to throw it back up. Still always hungry though, good thing I always keep a granola bar in my purse for a quick and easy snack. My skin has definitely been breaking out more. Not just on my face though, I've never had to experience any kind of body acne till now. It's not a fun experience. You know that "pregnancy mask" that people talk about? Yeah, I have that too, some days I think that I look more raccoon than human. Boobies are still sore and big. :/ This is probably the symptom that I hate the most. I'm kinda more on the short side, so me being a little more "blessed" up top makes me feel a little lopsided.
Cravings? Popsicles! Like the ones that you used to get when you were a kid. Ice cream, which is rare, cause I'm one of the weird people in the world that doesn't really care for it that much. Chinese food. Peaches. Sour gummy worms. Frozen Blueberries. Cheese crackers.
Mama Buys? This week I was able to buy some much needed bras! I got 3 regular day to day ones and one nighttime one. They are maternity/nursing bras. I did spend a little bit on them, but that' alright, I'll be using these for the next few years before I need to buy any new ones.
Picture?
Not this week.
That's about it for this week.
Thanks for reading!
